Ruth Greenwald Amkraut
Ruth Greenwald was born on January 26, 1943 in New York. She grew up in Brooklyn and Long Island. Ruth spent all of her summers since the age of 2 at Cejwin Camps in Port Jervis, NY where her parents served as staff (Frances Katchen Greenwald worked in the administration office and Edward Greenwald spent some years as the head caretaker of the camp.
After Frances's death from ovarian cancer when Ruth was 16, she was provided with mothering guidance from her aunt, Dotty Katchen Osgood.
