Sarah Sonsky Amkraut
Sarah Sonsky was born in Montral, Quebec, Canada.
Sarah was trained as a seamstress and also as a stenographer. She maried Hyman Amkraut and had one son, Julian Selig, in 1940. She visited many doctors in the hope of having additional children, trying procedures that were revolutionary for the time, but was told that nothing could be done.
Sarah died in Brooklyn, NY in 1999, after seeing the birth of her third great-grandchild.
